Text Box: surpassed previous years, and we spoke with so many people whose lives have been touched by Autism. Of course we’re planning on continuing with both events this year.
October brought some unexpected donations too. Both the Franklin Friendship Club and the Junaluskee Masonic Lodge of Franklin gave generously to help our cause. THANK YOU!
In November the Franklin chapter of Civitan International got together at Bi-Lo in Franklin to bag groceries for tips which they gave to NCCALL along with Text Box: www.northcarolinacall.org

Second Half/2007 !

Text Box: Last year sped by faster than any I can remember, but NCCALL managed to keep pace, and nearly all of our annual goals were accomplished. We hosted the first on-line exhibit titled “AUTISTS 2007” (it’s still on view on our web-site), and we’re planning on making this an annual event. The call for entries will start before the end of the school year in May with a deadline in August. We had 12 wonderful participants this past year, and we put our button/badge making machine to work making pins from their artwork. Eventually we would like to offer prints, cards, and other items using “AUTIST” artwork. Our exhibit generated lots of media interest, and we were featured in the non-profit Text Box: spotlight in the Mountain Xpress, and other local papers and radio stations helped to spread the word about our call for entries. Once the deadline had been met, we had to redesign our web-site to accommodate the artwork and recognize the Autists. It was quite a project, but well worth the effort, and the artwork is wonderful!
In September we had our diorama display at the Macon County Fair with Autism Awareness information available to the public.
In October we had our booth at the John C. Campbell Folk School’s Fall Festival in Brasstown, NC. where we sold items made by our Autists and items donated to us. Our sales Text Box: dates are April 25th & 26th, and we are currently busy making things to sell. The Macon County Art League is interested in having a show of our Autists artwork in May, but the dates have not been confirmed as yet.
Text Box: OK, the new year is now under way! We are happy to announce that we have two new associates joining our efforts; Wendy Young and Jennifer Pugh. Both Wendy and Jennifer are pursuing careers in the field of Autism, and Text Box: Jennifer is currently teaching in an Autistic classroom in High Point, NC.
Speaking of High Point, we will be exhibitors at the ASNC Conference in High Point again this year. The Text Box: NCCALL, Inc.
